Today’s the big day! It’s the annual celebration of whisk(e)y critic and author Michael Jackson and, more seriously, Parkison’s disease research. To honor the day, we thought it would be a perfect time to dive into some Scotch cocktails. I know that cocktails made from Scotch whisky are not popular (that’s an understatement!), but once you’ve tried these unique twists on tradition, you’ll be shouting “Sláinte” for a slew of new and devilishly delectable cocktail treats!

Smoky Bacon Old Fashioned
A theatrical and intensely smoky riff on the classic Old Fashioned.
Ingredients:
– 2 oz Ardbeg Wee Beastie
– 2 dashes Angostura bitters2 dashes Barkeep apple bitters
Instructions:
– Add all ingredients to a rocks glass filled with a large ice block
– Cocktail should be smoked in a smoking chamber and presented tableside
– Garnish with a slice of dehydrated apple and a rasher of crispy bacon.
Smoky Cosmo
A smoky take on the classic Cosmopolitan cocktail
Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 oz Ardbeg Ten Years Old
– 1/2 oz lime juice1 oz white cranberry Juice
– 1/2 oz elderflower liqueur (Saint Germain)
– 1/4 oz simple syrup
Instructions:
– Add Ardbeg and all liquid ingredients to a shaker tin and shake for dilution
– Fine straininto a chilled coupe glass
– Garnish with skewered cranberries or a twist

From Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky:
A newcomer from musician Sir Rod Stewart that makes a popular blended Scotch whisky!
Wolfie’s Appletini
Ingredients:
– 35ml/1.5 oz Wolfie’s Whisky
– 25ml/1 oz Apple Schnapps
– 50ml/ 2oz Apple Juice
– A dash of Lemon Juice
Instructions:
– Using a cocktail shaker, add ice to chill the ingredients
– Pour Wolfie’s Whisky, Apple Schnapps, Apple Juice, and a dash of Lemon Juice into the shaker
– Shake the mixture vigorously to blend the flavors and chill the ingredients
– Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass, preferably a fancy one to enhance the experience
– Garnish with a slice of apple for an added touch of elegance
Great Newport Street Sour
Ingredients:
– 70ml Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky
– 20ml ginger liqueur
– 45ml lime juice
– 45ml ginger syrup
– 1 egg white or 45ml aquafaba
– Splash of bitters
– Candied ginger (for garnish)
Instructions:
– Add ingredients to a shaker (no ice )
– Dry shake for 10 seconds (this helps emulsify the egg white or aquafaba)
– Add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 10 seconds to chill the mixture
– Double strain into favorite whisky glass (removes ice shards to achieve a smooth texture)
– Garnish with a piece of candied ginger for an extra touch of flavor and presentation
– Enjoy your Wolfie’s Ginger Whisky Sour!
Wolfie’s Punch
Ingredients:
– 750ml Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky
– 300ml Amaro
– 500ml Cranberry juice
– 1l Fresh orange juice
– 200ml Lime juice
– 100ml Grenadine
– 50ml Lime Juice
– 3 Vanilla pods split down middle
– 3 Clementines, 3 limes and 3 lemons sliced in wheels
– 2 Bottles of Prosecco
Instructions:
– Combine all punch ingredients except prosecco in a large glass punch bowl
– Refrigerate for two hours
– Remove bowl from fridge and discard vanilla pods
– Throw in some ice cubes and serve into large glass goblets filled with ice
– Top each glass up with Prosecco
